Welcome

Please join us in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, from June 12 through 14, 2013, for Collaborating Across Borders IV (CAB IV). Hosted by the Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative (CIHC) and the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative (AIHC), Collaborating Across Borders is the premier North American conference that focuses on interprofessional education and collaborative practice in health care. The theme of CAB IV is Transformative Change from the Classroom to Practice. We hear often that preparing future and current health care providers and leaders to collaborate within and across professions is best represented by a continuum of learning and application. Whether you are a student, health care practitioner, educator, patient, patient advocate, system leader, or policy-maker, the CAB IV program offers important opportunities for you to enhance your ability to collaborate and to teach collaboration so that ultimately, we help to improve health outcomes. The CAB IV program is designed to create a lively and dynamic exchange of ideas and practices that will benefit you immediately.

Social networking is being used to create connections and share information prior to the conference and will be used during the conference to enhance learning. In addition, it will be continued after the conference to maintain and grow new collaborations and to enhance feedback and networking. Thematic tracks have been outlined to make it easy for you to plan your conference experience, personalized to your level of knowledge about, and interest in, particular aspects of interprofessional education and collaborative practice. We have purposefully invited patients to open and close the conference, and to interact with attendees during the conference. Whatever your role in education and practice, CAB IV will offer you an important opportunity for learning.

We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver.
